We chose the below charities for our personal connection to them. After reading the book Three Cups of Tea, Greg Mortenson has inspired us to donate the equivalent of one school our first year in business to the Central Asian Institute (CAI) and hopefully match and increase that donation each year thereafter. The profits for our Crush T-Shirt Sale goes directly to this cause. We donated the $12,000 USD needed to build one school (K-5) at the beginning of January 2009. CAI projects not only raise children and their villages out of poverty, but they do more than any bomb will ever do to combat terrorism and extremism. Mark's maternal grandfather had a disease similiar to Alzheimer's. Of course Buddy, the dogs on the farm and animals everywhere led us to choose the Humane Society. Some of organizations reflect our tie to nature and environmental causes. We respect the work the Freshwater Trust and the State of Salmon do for this cause. The Oregon Humane Society |
