the grass is overgrown cats come and go as they please terrifying shrieking and wailing the neighbor's dogs bark less I cry more no longer greeted at the door more scraps of food on the floor perhaps habitually falling from my plat and mouth to his now only accumulating piles of detritis uneaten he is with me that I feel strangely at peace and feeling a sense of calm not sad or much less sa than I thought I would be feeling, almost, well guilty, I am not sadder he is not here not in his bed not by my side not at the nearby beach and ocean not in the box of his ashes but inside of me superimposed merged as one Buddy-san |
